The photographers pit, who dares may enter… as long as you don’t step on a space marked as ‘reserved’ by Fairfax, Stuff.co.nz, Michael Ng, and the other famous/media photographers of Fashion week. I was told to bring water, and a can of Lynx to ward off anyone who got too sweaty nearby.

It was my first fashion runway event, and it was the big one for this year’s Fashion Week – the legendary Trelise Cooper. Hence it was very popular and the atmosphere was amazing.

It was lovely to see an old Manuka Primary school mate Evelyn Ebrey, who is for Fashion week a Blogger for www.nzgirl.co.nz (check out her blog Just So Pretty too if you’re into fashion). Probably haven’t seen her for more than 20 years, so that was really cool.

I was of course super-stoked to be an accredited photographer, with my very official looking pass hanging around my neck. Getting inside though… I quickly realised I was one of about 40 photographers with “special” passes, and space was extremely tight in there. So it was a bit of a struggle to find a spot, and once the show started a mission to get a clean shot.

The next day however, I went back to shoot a private show for Westpac. This time I was there nice and early and picked out a fairly prime position. The difference one day makes is incredible, my photos were a huge improvement on the previous night. It was a great chance to get a sampler of Fashion Week with 10 runways going in a row, including: Huffer, Zambesi, Liz Mitchell, Trelise Cooper and some young designers. (I ‘sound’ pretty knowledgable there rolling off those names, but don’t ask me to match the designers to the photos below!!)
There are of course many more photos. Check back and I will add + link more here soon…

Great pics,I wondered if you had anything from the Angela Stone Eartquake relief show on Friday 1pm particularly looking for a blonde model wearing Caroline Moore and Katherine Leah Payne
cheers
Thanks Caroline. Sorry, I wasn’t there on Friday so didn’t catch that show.
Love the photography! Awesome to be able to add your signature to the work these truly gifted Creatives!
